Gargantua Soul, a.k.a. ‘G-SOUL’ was a New Haven, CT based independent band who we’re once called by the press as the “Best Unsigned Band in the Country.” & “The Nation’s Best Unsigned Band” by Hard Rock Cafe. Their live performances were legendary within the New England area and beyond. Founded in the late 90’s, Gargantua Soul brought live performances with energy and passion that was unmatched during their prime and their influence still permeates the CT based underground music scene to this day.
As an independent band, Gargantua Soul achieved considerable commercial and artistic success, recording three critically acclaimed and widely distributed albums, generating steady spins on commercial rock radio stations, featured in Metal Edge Magazine, Boston Soundcheck, Unsung Hero, and Connecticut Magazine, while also winning numerous national awards such as the 2002-03 Sobe / Q104.3 NYC / Hard Rock Cafe ‘Rock the Rockies’ National Battle of the Bands competition.
G-Soul and/or their music has appeared on The Shield, WWE Tough Enough, MuchMusic USA, in the VH1 movie ‘At Any Cost’, Woodstock ’99 on the “Emerging Artist’s Stage,” ESPN’s 2002 XGAMES, USA’s Farmclub TV, and the Howard Stern Show.
G-Soul offered fans of cutting-edge, original music, a soaring and adept blend of hard rock styles fused with tribal percussion, chunky guitar riffs, and melodic vocal harmonies. Gargantua Soul officially went on hiatus in 2004.
